Hey guys!  I just finished Gemini and his primary weapon set.

I'm pretty new to painting my own textures, so I'm happy with how well he turned out.

On the main model I tried to recreate Joey's concept in a way that would work in a mobile game. This meant it would need to be modeled in a way that animates well and uses as few polygons as possible.

For the main model I've used around 490 polygons to define his silhouette and tried to get across the details through the painted texture. I took advantage of floating geometry and transparency to make accessories.

The character is more visually interesting and detailed in his upper body, because in game you will see him from an aerial perspective.

Here are his primary sword and shotgun models. On these I tried to keep the models under 50 polygons.

With clever use of transparent textures I was able to make them appear far more detailed than the poly limit would have allowed.

On the right here are the weapons and Gemini's wrist guard sans texture.

Notice the blades and trigger are actually just planar.

And the wrist Guard is only three quads but reads as a complex shape on the final model.

Well, that's my first write up I hope you enjoyed reading it.

Next up I'm rigging and skinning Gemini, so stay posted for some updates as we continue to make progress.
