Hey there Split Pixel fans! It's been a while since we've had any updates with finals and graduation but we will be back on our grind in just a few short days once the rest of the team is reunited with eachother back in Athens. Unfortunately, we will be saying goodbye to two of our beloved developers! Both Sam and Steve will be starting their new jobs in Las Vegas! We thank them for all of the hard work and effort that they put in with us and will miss them greatly. They have made a huge impact on Split Pixel Studios and we will still be in close contact with them. Make sure you stay posted on our facebook page, twitter, and website because in the next few weeks, we will be making significant progress on Gemini! The Mammoth robot enemy is almost done and we have some new planets in the works for Gemini to kick their asses on. Also, check out the picture of the entire Split Pixel Crew on our website!

Just got out of the recording booth with our voice over artist Mark Steadman! We really appreciate him taking the four hour drive all the way from Cleveland to Athens. We got some great audio and we think his voice is going to be perfect for Gemini. We'll let our audio master Bryan chop up the recording and make sure we choose the best ones. If you've ever played Halo, just think of the announcer...because that's what our guy sounds like. We're super excited to put it into our current build!

The Unveiling of Split Pixel's Samurai Swords
While Split Pixel was in San Francisco, we decided to take a little trip after GDC was over. All of us walked to China Town and had some great food and bought presents for our family and friends. As we arrived at a shop with a huge selection of crazy knives, swords, spears, and ninja stars, we couldn't help but check it out. After a brutal process of picking out the right ones WE ALL BOUGHT SAMURAI SWORDS!! For research and references of course...You may wonder how we transported our new valuable company assets from China Town, San Francisco back to Athens, Ohio. We shipped all of them in a giant box and they just arrived! After a very spiritual unveiling ritual, we now can use these Samurai swords to learn Gemini's ways and help him defeat the evil robots that he so diligently has been battling. Swords.

Hey there Split Pixel fans! We're all back from GDC and oh what a great time we had.  After a long week of networking, walking around the city, and traveling, it's nice to be back in Athens. Seeing all of the games from the Indie Games Festival and speaking with fellow developers has given us motivation to work even harder and deliver everyone the best game we can. We showed Gemini to some people and got good feedback so it's time to get back to the grind and kick production into the highest of gears. We'll keep you posted on our development and we'll have some actual alpha gameplay for you soon!

Well folks, it's that time! GDC is here and the whole Split Pixel crew is on their way.  We've have a fully functioning alpha build ready to show at the conference! Gemini is slashing away with combos, the Grunts are shooting lasers, and the menus look pretty damn sexy. Sorry for not putting any news up in the past week but we've been crazy busy trying to get Gemini ready for his first real test. Screen shots are coming soon, we promise.  Wish us luck!

With GDC only 11 days away we've gotta get Gemini ready to show off! We plan on having a working alpha build with the ability for Gemini to do combos, one enemy type with AI, and a completed planet. I'm sure if any of you are attending GDC, you are frantically trying to finish all of your projects, update your websites and resumes, and order those all important business cards.  These next 11 days are going to be jam packed and we wish you luck with all of your GDC preparation.  Please wish us luck too and make sure you stay posted for some more updates soon!

Although being long overdue, Sarah's Adventure is finally done! We added the last of the audio and we have released the final builds. You can watch the Trailer on youtube and download both the final Mac and PC builds! We got the real Sarah to fly in all the way from Texas to record her own voice and she did a great job. If you have an older build of Sarah's Adventure you should download a new one because we have fixed some annoying bugs and we added all the audio. Play Sarah's Adventure and share her awesome adventure with all of your friends!

Hey there Gemini fans! We've just got some music from Bryan, our audio lead, and it's awesome. This is the first Gameplay Music Demo so take a listen! Just imagine yourself slashing through dozens of robots with your katana and blasting them to smitherines with your shotgun with this music. It gets us pretty amped up and we going to continue working on it to make it the best space samurai robot killing music that's out there! Please comment and let us know what you think. Like Split Pixel Studios on facebook and follow us on twitter @SplitThePixel.

I just got off the phone with a voice over artist who said he was interested in doing some recording for Gemini! We're not 100% set on whether or not we want there to be any dialogue in our game but it might be cool to have some sort of announcer. He could do the countdown before each level and maybe shout out combos when you perform them. Hopefully he sounds as awesome as the announcer from Halo (too bad we can't use Killtrocity...stupid copyright laws). I guess we'll just have to come up with our own badass names for killing tons of robots at the same time. If you think having an announcer for Gemini would be cool please leave a comment!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday America! It doesn't matter who you want to win, the Super Bowl is all about getting together with friends and family and sharing the great American sport. We hope you all eat too many wings and chips and lose your voice from screaming at the TV. Too bad there's still school on Monday because the Super Bowl is a holiday. Split Pixel wishes you a great day and a great Super Bowl Sunday.
